About the Event

A member of the Lost Generation of artists felled by the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s, Chris DeBlasio rose above his circumstances to fight homophobia and government inaction in Act Up, however his greatest legacy is the collection of beautiful songs and chamber music he left behind. Join us for an exploration of Chris' life and times and a New York that has long since died in Letters from New York: the Music of Chris DeBlasio. Our program features the song cycles, Villagers and In Endless Ascent in addition to cabaret and chamber music written by Chris DeBlasio. With Heather Gallagher, mezzo-soprano and James Myers, pianist.
