BASSically a Fun Concert

You’ve seen it in the back of a symphony orchestra and in the rhythm section of a jazz combo, but have you ever heard the dulcet tones of the double bass - - - up close & personal? It is one of THE MOST beautiful instruments you will ever hear – and incredibly diverse!  

Come hear classical double bassist Susan Hagen (the first EVER female principal double bassist of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and a first-call extra player with the Boston Symphony Orchestra) perform for you! Featuring music from around the world, many of the pieces were written specifically for Susan and several will be premieres. All the music will be beautiful and fun.

On the second half of the program, Susan will be joined on guitar by her very first bass teacher – her father Roy Hagen! They will perform music by Faure, Donizetti, Puccini, among others.
